We can provide cover for Northern Ireland only but policies can be extended to cover events in Southern Ireland.

Is damage to the trailer covered if it is involved in an accident whilst it is being towed ?

The trailer is covered whilst being towed, but the third party risk is covered under the towing vehicle insurance. You should always check with your motor insurers that cover is in place as some insurers will not cover vehicles towing a catering trailer.
